Corpus Christi, Tex. TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division has introduced a series of wire bondable chip resistors with an extended resistance range to 400 KΩ. The new WBC series resistors feature IRC's self-passivating tantalum nitride thin-film technology on silicon substrates.
Touting a resistance range unmatched by competitors, the WBC series resistors offer an extended resistance range from 10Ω to 400 KΩ, which is said to allow for better surge protection in higher power applications such as hybrid circuits. The series offers absolute tolerance ranges down to ±0.1%, with absolute temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) values to ±25 ppm/°C.
In addition, the tantalum nitride film provides precision tolerance and excellent TCR tracking and stability over time and temperature, giving the WBC resistors exceptional power dissipation, said the company.
The wire bondable chip resistors are available in 0202 and 0303 chip sizes. The 0303 center-tapped chips can be used in feedback circuits of amplifiers, where ratio matching, high power and close tracking between two resistors is critical, said the company. Custom specifications are available. Click here for the datasheet.
Pricing for the WBC series resistors typically starts at $1.00 in quantities of 1,000.
