Houston, Tex.—HP's new Monitored PDUs (power distribution units), the HP 17.3 kVA S348 for North America and Japan, and the HP 22.1 kVA S332 for international configurations, supports high-power rack-mount applications with three-phase power in and single-phase power out. A local power display on the PDU allows system designers to set up and configure the PDU and monitor RMS current, system status, and overload conditions.
The PDUs fit in any side of the rack with power cords extending from either the bottom or top of the rack. These single feed models have twelve C-19 outlets for 1U blade power enclosures, and fit 22U to 47U racks.
The units have uniquely color-coded load identification for all receptacles and circuit breakers.
The PDUs have has a two-digit, seven segment LED digital display, which shows the current in each circuit breaker, a scroll button to scroll through values, and six LEDs, which indicate current overloads and voltage out-of-range conditions. Current monitoring consists of two digit RMS current, with load segment LEDs reporting three operating conditions (normal, up to 80 percent capacity; caution, 80-102 percent; warning, greater than 102 percent). Voltage monitoring measures over-voltage and under-voltage on any output load segment. Remote power monitoring is available with an optional serial SNMP card.

Sold through authorized dealers, the HP 17.3 kVA S348 Monitored PDU is available now with a U.S. Internet price of $1499. Pricing may vary by country or region for the HP 22.1 kVA S332 Monitored PDU.
