Beaverton, Ore.—V-Infinity's VHB50W, for telecom and industrial applications, meets customer demand for a low-power half-brick that works from a 4:1 input. The converters, in 10 models, deliver up to 50 watts at 3.3 to 24 volts from a 9-36 or 18-72 VDC input.
Features include a line regulation of ±0.2 percent, load regulation of ±0.2 percent, and maximum ripple and noise of 40 mV RMS (3.3 and 5 volt models; 100 mV RMS for 24-volt model). Transient response is less than 500 microseconds for a 25 percent step load change. Input-to-output, input-to-case, and output-to-case isolation is 1500 volts. Efficiency is 77 to 84 percent.
Operational features include positive or negative logic, remote on/off, remote sense, continuous short-circuit protection, over-current protection, and over-temperature protection. The converters are RoHS compliant. The VHB50W, in a five sided aluminum enclosure, is rated for operation over -40 to +100 °C.
