Myrtle Beach, S.C. AVX Corp. has expanded its TCJ series of tantalum polymer capacitors with new devices that are said to provide the industry's highest capacitance values, while shrinking their package sizes.
Enabling design engineers to further shrink the size of their portable electronic device designs as well as increase their functionality, the newest TCJ series capacitors are one to three capacitance value (CV) levels higher than other devices on the market. These new devices provide capacitance values of 100 microfarads (μF) at 4 V in the 0805 size, 47 μF at 6.3V in the 1206 size and 10 μF at 6.3 V in the 1210 size.
The TCJ capacitors offer an operating voltage up to 12 V with an operating temperature up to 125°C. The parts also guarantee the equivalent series resistance (ESR) specification values after reflow soldering. They can withstand three times reflow profile up to 260°C and are RoHS compliant.
Typical pricing ranges from $0.200 to $0.320 in quantities of 10,000. Delivery is from eight to ten weeks with samples available immediately.
