Engerwitzdorf, AustriaEight physical quantities can be accurately measured with one handheld unit available from E+E Elektronik. It’s powered from four AA-sized 1.5-V cells.
The company's OMNIPORT 20 handheld instrument is configured with pluggable sensing probes that support configuration for various applications and measuring ranges. A such, the OMNIPORT 20 can be used to test and evaluate many aspects of industrial process control systems, for example, or clean rooms (where it can measure water activity and moisture content, even in oil). It could be used to measure humidity in walls and floors, too.
The sensing probes permit the OMNIPORT 20 to measure relative humidity, temperature, dew point temperature, absolute humidity, mixing ratio, air velocity, water activity in oil, and water content in oil.
An LCD with backlighting lets you use the instrument under poor lightning conditions. The unit's ABS plastic housing also lets the OMNIPORT survive harsh industrial environments. In addition, a carrying case is available; it houses an OMNIPORT, up to five sensing probes, and a calibration kit for relative humidity.
In contrast to many instruments, the OMNIPORT 20 doesn't have a keypad. Instead it uses a rotary thumbwheel navigation scheme and menus. An upper menu is selected by rotating the wheel upwards. A lower menu for configuration and calibration is selected by rotating the wheel downwards. The thumbwheel is pressed in its center position to switch the instrument on and off and to confirm input values.
