Gardena, Calif. J.W. Miller Magnetics has introduced two new series of
RoHS-compliant multilayer chip inductors. The new surface-mount PM1210G and PM1812G devices feature a low profile with excellent performance characteristics for a wide range of high-frequency applications.
The PM1210G devices are housed in a 3.2 x 2.5 x 1.3-mm package, while the larger PM1812G inductors measure 4.5 x 3.2 x 1.5 mm. Depending on the model, the inductance values range from 0.10 microhenry (μH) to 33 μH. Other performance characteristics include an operating temperature of -25°C to 125°C, high Q characteristics and a rated DC current up to 800 mA.
Manufactured using monolithic construction to ensure consistent performance and maximum reliability, these PM1210G and PM1812G inductors also feature ferrite material construction that effectively reduces unwanted radiation to a minimum, said the company. They may be used in laptop computers, printers, hard drives, computer peripherals, HDTVs, VCRs and other consumer electronics products.
The new PM1210G and PM1812G series chip inductors are packaged in tape-and-reel quantities of 2,500 per reel (Series PM1210G) and 1,000 per reel (Series PM1812G). Pricing ranges from $0.078 to $0.095 each in minimum production quantities with delivery in four to six weeks.
