Mississauga, Canada CSTNCanada has introduced a new 128 x 64 pixel chip-on-glass (COG) display with white LED backlighting. The new 2.7-inch LCD module uses COG technology to reduce its size and cost.
COG technology allows for a thinner display since it doesn't require a PC-board or bezel, said the company. This display is suitable for text and graphic applications in handheld portable devices where size, power consumption, and quality are concerns.
The new DG-12864-COG-WFBLW-H display offers a 9.6:1 contrast ratio and a viewing angle of 40 degrees. The operating temperature is -20°C to 70°C. The efficient three-diode white LED backlight allows the module to be used for both indoor and outdoor applications. In power saving sleep mode, the display uses less than 2 μA. The display supports eight-bit parallel or serial interfaces and has a built in dc/dc converter for ease of design integration.
Samples are priced at $10.25. Production pricing is $8.75 in quantities of 10,000.
