SAN JOSE, Calif. Taiwan’s Via Technologies Inc. has rolled out a chipset that works with its own, proprietary microprocessor line.
The CN700 IGP chipset supports Via’s C7 processor, which is geared for mini PCs, embedded commercial systems and home entertainment centers.
The chipset’s integrated S3 Graphics UniChrome Pro IGP core provides 2D/3D graphics performance, with display outputs for CRTs and LCDs. It provides HDTV capabilities up to 1080 resolution with a compatible DVI or TV encoders.
Supporting the V4 bus up to 533-MHz, the CN700 IGP chipset supports both DDR2 and DDR memory modules. Combined with the VT8237A South Bridge, the CN700 offers a comprehensive range of integrated storage, multimedia and connectivity options, including native Serial ATA and V-RAID.
The CN700 is expected to be available in volume quantities in Q1 2006. Pricing is available upon request.
