Tempe, Ariz.—Designed for portable electronics products with a basic digital camera, Freescale Semiconductor's MPC17C724 is a dual-channel, motor driver IC that delivers 400 mA per channel for controlling the camera lens and shutter.
The H-bridge IC, working from a 2.7- to 5.5-volt input, has four control modes: Forward, reverse, brake, and tri-state (high impedance). Having a direct control interface to the system microcomputer, the chip delivers up to 400 mA continuous per channel (800 mA peak). This chip features an under-voltage detector and shoot-through current protection.
