MILPITAS, CAXecom, Inc. announced the XE900SX10, miniature surface-mount, 900-MHz Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS) transceiver. The XE900X10 integrates a transmitter, receiver, filters, and shielding. An available on-board LTCC chip-antenna eliminates the cost and placement issues of an external antenna. All link control and Frequency Hopping code is embedded in the transceiver's communications controller. FCC Part 15 modular certification eliminates Part 15 certification for XE900SX10 customers.
The OEM system controls all XE900SX10 functions by issuing simple, modem-like AT commands to the XE900SX10 communications controller. This includes link initiation, network addressing, power management, and networking functions.
The XE900SX10 is packaged as a compact, leadless module measuring 1.3 inches by 0.9 inches by 0.12 inches high and features an available on-board antenna that gives the designer maximum flexibility in transceiver placement. (Model XE900SX10D does not have the antenna) The transceiver is suited for applications needing compact, low power wireless data transfer such as automated meter reading (AMR), access security, and medical monitoring.
Samples are available now. Pricing for the XE900SX10 is $25.90 each in 5000 unit quantities. Pricing for the XE900SX10D without the on board chip antenna is $23.90 in 5000 piece quantities. Click here for the data sheet.
