Oss, The Netherlands AcQ InduCom introduces the ccPMC481 conduction cooled audio card with front and rear I/O. The conduction plate is a metallic panel that conducts heat from the mezzanine components to the edge of the mezzanine.
The conduction plate is a three-dimensional part requiring small tolerances to ensure that it does not interfere with component leads and that it provides accurate location of the mezzanine in the chassis card slot. Conduction cooling can also be accomplished by embedding metal layers and thermal vias within the core of the printed wiring board and/or incorporating optional metal inserts to match various component heights.
The audio card is based on the CrystalClear PCI Audio Interface controller and the Crystal CS4299A CrystalClear SoundFusion Audio Codec '97. The PMC481 features four audio connections via the front panel using 3.5 mm stereo connectors. Optionally the audio connections can be made via the rear I/O of the PMC481 using the PIM481-J (PMC I/O Module, with four 3.5mm stereo connectors).
The PIM481-J is to be mounted on a rear transition module (RTM). The audio interface consists of a line input, a microphone input, a line output and a speaker output with anstereo amplifier on the card.
