Harrow, UK Radiometrix announced a 9600-baud radio modem module that is designed to simplify a half-duplex link. The five-channel TDL2A effectively replaces a serial cable interface in a multitude of applications where trailing cables are impractical or undesirable, delivering a low power, 100m data link.
Combining a 433-MHz band five-channel transceiver with a dedicated data communication processor, the module deals with any 9600 baud asynchronous data stream issues without requiring any user intervention or interface, and provides all necessary buffering, packetization, framing, coding, decoding and reconstitution. The TDL2A does not require any additional software.
Housed in an industry-standard 33x25x7mm BiM2 footprint case, the TDL2A has a transmit power of 10mW. Units feature receiver Blocking performance of 84dB. Receiver sensitivity is -107dBm (1-percent BER), adjacent channel rejection is 65dB at ±320kHz and spurious emission is less than 65dBm.
Applications are numerous and varied, but include machine to machine interfaces, industrial control and telemetry, handheld portable terminals, medical equipment and environmental monitoring and control systems.
