Lexington, Mass.—STMicroelectronics' 40-volt STD95N04 power MOSFET, designed specifically for automotive applications, has a maximum RDS(on) of 6.5 milliohms for high-current applications.
Built on StripFET technology to achieve significantly increased cell density, the 80-amp device is suited for use in DC/DC converters, motor control, solenoid drivers, and ABS systems. STMicro says the MOSFET is extremely competitive in both price and critical on-resistance performance when compared against products manufactured using conventional trench technology. Typical RDS(on) is in the region of 5 milliohms, and it maintains standard threshold drive requirements.
