Roseburg, Ore. Caddock Electronics Inc. has introduced its Type VMN transient tolerant voltage monitoring resistor networks for voltage measurement circuits in industrial and commercial power metering applications.
The Type VPN voltage divider networks are manufactured with Tetrinox, the company's ultra-stable, low TC, resistance film system, which provides the devices with excellent transient capability even when exposed to severe electrical transient abuse including overloads and impulses. In addition, by using the company's ceramic sandwich construction, the resistor networks exhibit long-term stability in extreme environmental conditions.
The Type VMN resistor networks can handle transient impulses from 6 kV up to 15 kV (1.2/50 microsecond impulses). Other key specifications include a resistance value range from 500 Kohm to 10 Mohm with a ratio tolerance range of 0.10 percent to 1 percent. Ratio tolerances as tight as 0.02 percent are available. The operating voltage rating is 250 Vac rms to 2000 Vac rms. These devices are available with a temperature coefficient of ±15 ppm/°C or ±25 ppm/°C, but TCs are available as tight as ±5 ppm/°C.
These resistor networks may be used in power quality meters, kilowatt-hour meters, power and energy measurement equipment, and other devices where precision voltage monitoring is required.
These custom resistor networks are priced at approximately $2.50 to $7.50, depending on specifications. Engineering evaluation samples are available in seven weeks.
