Youngwood, Penna.—Powerex's PS22052-54 and PS22056, a family of 1200-volt intelligent power modules, provide a one-chip solution to the drive electronics required for small 460-volt, three-phase motors. The 1200-volt series allows designers to reduce inverter size as well as overall design time in blower motor/HVAC, industrial and servo motor, pump and compressor, and robotics applications.
The DIP-IPMs, rated for 5, 10, 15 and 25 amps (basic collector current; actual output current to the motor legs depends on the application), integrate fourth-generation IGBTs, and an applications specific high-voltage IC (gate drive, level shifting and protection circuitry) in a dual-in-line transfer mold package measuring 79-by-44-by-8.2 mm. These modules feature direct connection to CPU, DSP, or MCU controllers, and open emitters for current sensing in each phase leg.
The modules carry an isolation rating (connection pins to heatsink) of 2500 volts. Click here to access the product datasheets. The DIP-IPMs are priced from $33 to $55. Sample quantities are available from stock to 8 weeks.
