Camarillo, Calif.—Touting an 18-to-60 volt input, Power-One's QMS quarter-brick DC/DC converters eliminate the need to inventory multiple brick part numbers for 70-82 watt wireless base station applications.
Three single-output models provide 25 amps at 3.3 VDC, 14 amps at 5 volts, and 6.75 amps at 12 volts.
Nominal operating effficiencies exceed 90 percent.
Features include (for the 3.3 volt model) a line regulation of 0.3 percent or better, load regulation of 0.75 percent (at Vin = 36), and worst-case ripple of 100 mV p-p. Transient response is better than 1 ms (0.5 ms nominal) for a 75-100-75 percent load-step change and 1 amp/microsecond slew rate. Calculated MTBF is 1.75 Mhours, as per Telcordia SR-332 Issue 1 testing. Additional features include an input-to-output isolation of 1500 VDC, start-up into a highly capacitive load, and low conducted and radiated EMI.
Operational features include remote on/off, remote output-voltage sensing, and output trimming. The module is protected against over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature conditions. These converters are approved to UL60950-1-03/CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60950-1, TUV EN 60950-1, and IEC 60950-1 requirements.
