Sunnyvale, Calif.Aimed at portable equipment applications, Maxim Integrated Products has developed four 16-channel, bidirectional logic-level translators that don't require a direction pin to determine the logic translation path, helping to reduce component pin count.
The MAX13101E, MAX13102E, MAX13103E, and MAX13108E operate from a 1.65-V to 5.5-V power supply and a 1.2V to Vcc logic supply, and transfer data at
rates up to 20-Mbits/s, making them suitable for communication between low-voltage ASICs and higher voltage devices.
Additional features include a low 0.3 microamp quiescent current, ±15kV ESD protection on the I/O Vcc lines, and a shutdown state option. Two different output configurations available during shutdown, allow the I/O on either the Vcc or VL side to be put in a high-impedance state or pulled to ground through an internal 6 kilohm resistor.
The MAX13101E, MAX13102E, MAX13103E, and MAX13108E operate over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). The devices are available in a 5-mm x 5-mm, 40-pin TQFN and a space-saving, 3-mm x 3-mm, 36-bump UCSP package. Prices start at $2.50 (1000-up, FOB USA).
