Milpitas, Calif.—Intersil's ISL59448 is a triple- channel, high-bandwidth (500 MHz) 2:1 multiplexer with a slew rate of 1600 V/microsecond to meet the high resolution requirements of monitors, projectors, and KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) peripherals.
"The ISL59448 has been designed with the industry’s highest bandwidth and a slew rate that enables exceptional bandwidth even at the high levels typically associated with video signals," said Kathryn Tucker, marketing manager for video products. "The device easily drives video loads, and is ideal for driving double or back-terminated loads.”
The multiplexer allows designers to switch between RGB or YPbPr-based signals. The chip's integrated gain-of-2 buffer is suited to driving double terminated video loads. The chip also features a three-state output (i.e., with high-impedance output), so users can connect the outputs of multiple devices together to form large matrices.
