Campbell, Calif.—SAE Power's PF1200-4801 hot-swap 1U front-end, with extensive I2C-compatible monitoring and control, delivers 1200 watts at 48 volts for networking and storage systems.
The module features a total regulation (for any combination of line, load, and temperature regulation) of ±1 percent or better (48-volt output), maximum ripple and noise of 1 percent, transient response of 300 microseconds typical for a 50 percent step load, and typical efficiency of 88 percent. MTBF is more than 250k hours MTBF.
Interface with the host system is via the module's I2C interface, which facilitates data transfer of input voltage, output voltage/current, alarms, serial number, part number, and place/date of manufacture. Additional I2C control functions include output voltage adjustment, unit enable/disable, and fan override. These supplies provide a full complement of analog output/control indicators including 5VSB, current share, remote sense, remote on/off, voltage adjust, current monitor, AC OK, DC good, and fan fail.
These products are qualified to international safety standards, bear the CE Mark, are RoHS compliant and can pass Class B EMI standards. The supply comes with a two-year warranty.
