Luterbach, Switzerland - With the FN 3025 and FN 3026 three-phase filters, Schaffner introduces a new housing concept, offering EMC filters in compact, light weight design with high functionality and distinctive safety elements. The low-leakage EMC filters come in modern plastic housings, with a design that simplifies handling and helps to reduce the installation time. The use of plastic materials and the elimination of potting compound allow a weight reduction of up to 50% in comparison with conventional EMC components. Nevertheless, a metal base plate ensures the EMC-compliant high frequency contact to ground. Integrated filter terminals for the electrical connection have been taken over from today’s motor drives and further optimized with respect to user convenience. A patented spring mechanism automatically raises the clamping fixture so that the connection wires can conveniently be attached. Transparent safety covers, which can be opened and closed with a captive swivel mechanism, are provided for protection against unintended contact with live conductors. Two mounting options provide the necessary flexibility for application-compliant installation of the filter. FN 3025 filters are suitable for traditional screw mounting while the FN 3026 are optimized for time-saving mounting on TS 35 DIN-rails. FN 3025/3026 filters are designed for rated currents from 20 to 50 A (at 50°C) and for maximum continuous operating voltages of 3 x 520 V AC. All versions are distinguished by minimal filter leakage current of 0.4 (L-types) or 2.5 mA (P-types) at 480 V/50 Hz and are outstandingly suitable for use in conjunction with sensitive earth-leakage circuit breakers and strict requirements with regard to fire protection and protection of persons.
