Fremont, Calif.—Phihong's PSAA05A cost-effective linear AC/DC adapter, measuring just 2.59-by-1.55-by-1.07 inches and weighing 3 ounces, delivers 5 watts for MPEG players, PDAs and digital cameras.
"The adapter is CEC and Energy Star compliant," said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA. "Housed in a small footprint and providing 5 watts, it is a low-cost solution for many personal electronics OEMs."
The adapter features double insulation and meets class B EMI specs. The adapter is equipped with an auto restart for short-circuit protection; the output can be shorted permanently without damage. It also features a mini USB DC output connector.
The adapter, working from a 100 to 230 VAC input to deliver a nominal 5.15-volt output, features a no-load power consumption of less than 300 mW at 230 VAC, and a low leakage current of 20 microamps. Over-voltage protection kicks in at approximately 6.7 VDC.
