Harrisburg, Pa. Tyco Electronics has expanded its SOLARLOK photovoltaic (PV) connector system with three new junction box configurations and positive latching.
With the addition of the two-, three- and four-rail junction boxes, designers and installers of PV systems will have greater flexibility in the products they specify and use in next-generation PV systems. This expands the previous six-rail product offering. The number of rails determines how many electrical connections can be made in a junction box.
All SOLARLOK junction boxes are IP65 rated, and carry UL 1703 and TUV approvals. Another major improvement to the SOLARLOK connector system is the addition of positive latching features, which help minimize unintentional disconnections.
SOLARLOK connection systems are used to accommodate serial and parallel connections of PV arrays. The SOLARLOK connection system also includes connectors that allow for fast field installation or high-speed manufacture of made-to-length cable assemblies. Polarization features and sealing are also integral to the SOLARLOK connectors.
A two-rail SOLARLOK junction box is priced at $8.00 in quantities of 500. Delivery is typically eight to ten weeks.
