The LM3S102 Evaluation Kit contains all necessary components to evaluate the Stellaris LM3S102 microcontroller. It is bundled with the Stellaris LM3S102, the CrossFire LM3S102 evaluation board, a mini-USB cable, a Getting Started manual, and a license for Rowley's CrossWorks for ARM software development tools (locked to the board). Detailed information about the kit can be found at Rowley kit.
"The features of the CrossFire LM3S102 Evaluation Kit make it simple and easy to evaluate our Stellaris microcontrollers. With the first ARM Cortex-M3 microcontrollers on the market, and with the first ARM-based microcontrollers that provide 32-bit performance for the same price as an 8- or 16-bit, we have had several requests for this type of evaluation board and we think it is going to be very popular among Stellaris enthusiasts," said Luminary Micro's Chief Marketing Officer Jean Anne Booth.
The Rowley Crossfire LM3S102 is the first evaluation kit developed and made available for a Cortex-M3 MCU. Global fulfillment of the kit is also available through Mouser at
In addition to the Rowley CrossFire LM3S102 evaluation kit, Luminary Micro also offers fully featured Stellaris family development kits through Mouser for $249. Luminary Micro's Stellaris development kits take designers from development kit to prototype in just one box. The kit's motherboard supports the entire Stellaris line and comes complete with ready-to-go software and tools designed to get users running in 10 minutes or less. Purchasers will receive Luminary Micro's development kit motherboard and a daughterboard for the selected Stellaris MCUs; a peripheral driver library; documentation, schematics, and example programs; and all cables and jumpers. Users of more than one Stellaris family member simply change out the daughterboard. All boards in the Stellaris development kit have passed certification and are CE marked, indicating the development kit's conformance to the mandatory European regulatory requirements.
