Liberty, S.C. Cornell Dubilier received approval by the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC) as a qualified provider of CLR79 and CLR81 wet tantalum capacitors. The approval is for R-level reliability (.01%/1000 h) and voltages from 25 Vdc to 125 Vdc.
The R level approval is in addition to the M and P levels which were received in 2004. The CLR79 capacitor is listed as MIL-C-39006/22 and CLR81 as MIL-C-39006/25. The Type CLR79 device is similar to Cornell Dubilier's commercial Type TAT, and CLR81 is similar to Type TAX. Click the link for the CLR79 and CLR81 capacitors datasheets.
These CLR79 and CLR81 capacitors offer up to 15 times the capacitance of a solid tantalum capacitor in the same size and voltage, said the company. The capacitance range is 1.7 to 680 microfarads (μF) with a voltage range from 25 to 125 Vdc. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C.
Both the CLR79 and CLR81 capacitors have hermetically sealed cylindrical tantalum cases with a special double-seal construction. They are widely used in avionic applications because of their high energy density and ruggedness.
List prices start at $14.00. Delivery is from stock to 12 weeks.
