Ottawa, OntarioThe Tsi350 from Tundra Semiconductor Corp. is a low-power, 32-bit 66-MHz asynchronous PCI-to-PCI bridge that is priced at less than $8 each in 1,000-unit quantities.
The Tsi350 targets new designs or existing board footprints using standard 32-bit, 66-MHz PCI-to-PCI bridges from Pericom, PLX and TI. Fully compliant with PCI local bus specification revision 2.3, the device has sufficient clock and arbitration pins to support nine PCI bus master devices for a wide range of applications, including communications and networking equipment, multi-function printers, imaging systems and embedded video recorders.

The Tsi350 features two 32-bit 66-MHz capable PCI interfaces and provides 10 independent secondary clock outputs to the secondary slots. Primary and secondary interfaces can be operated using asynchronous clocks. A secondary clock can either be derived from the input primary clock or supplied by an external clock source. Secondary clocks can be masked through a GPIO interface during power-up.
The Tsi350 is produced in 31-mm X 31-mm 208-PQFP and 256-PBGA packages. The bridge is drop-in, pin-for-pin and software compatible with industry-standard PCI bridges. The device is 3.3-V I/O and 5-V tolerant.
