Colorado Springs, Colo.—EM Microelectronic's EM6110 bitmap controller and driver chip for full dot-matrix monochrome TN and STN LCDs is highly integrated, simplifying the design of the display electronics in headsets, weigh scales, utility meters, and battery-operated products.
Touting low-power operation, the EM6110, which includes an oscillator, bias resistors, and synchronization circuitry and requires no external components, drives 8 rows-by-32 columns or 4, 3, 2, 1-by 40 columns, addressable by a 3-wire or I2C interface.
The EM6110 can be cascaded for very large display applications, such as for the signage at airports, train stations, or buses.
