XITRON'S NEW POWER ANALYZER PROVIDES INDUSTRY'S HIGHEST PERFORMANCE-TO-COST RATIO
Capabilities of the 2801 Analyzer Make It Ideal for Energy Star or Standby Power Testing
SAN DIEGO, CAXiTRON Technologies, Inc., an industry-leading provider of power testing solutions for nearly two decades, announces the release of its newest power analyzerthe 2801 Advanced Single Channel Power Analyzer. The 2801 is the latest in a series of high-performance instruments from XiTRON that are specifically designed for use on engineering and R&D bench tops, as well as critical manufacturing and production testing environments.
"The 2801 offers users an unprecedented set of features and performance at a price point that is a fraction of analyzers with similar or lesser performance," said Dennis Schlaht, vice president of Marketing and Product Development for XiTRON Technologies. "The 2801 feature set is not found in any other power analyzer at any price. This new analyzer is another result of listening to what our customers want in the field, and providing complete solutions to their unique testing needs," Schlaht adds.
The 2801 provides basic accuracy, volts and current, of better than 0.08%. The 2801 also boasts an incredible dynamic range measuring greater than 150A pike and 2000V pike, but also measuring down to less than 1mA rms and 1V rms while maintaining 0.2% accuracy at such low levels. The capabilities of the 2801 make it an ideal analyzer for Energy Star or standby power testing.
In addition to tremendous accuracy and precision, the 2801 packs a feature set that is unmatched in the industry. The 2801 includes an integrated line switch, AC or DC, which can be controlled from the front panel, from user I/O, or through the many communications interfaces. This switch, combined with the graphical inrush waveforms and startup screens provide the user with a complete profile of the startup of their product/system. The analyzer provides graphical history charts of a myriad of parameters over time periods of a few milliseconds to hundreds of hours. The 2801 provides DC charge and discharge measurements useful for power supply, battery and capacitor manufacturers. The 2801 also features a selection for LOAD or SOURCE measurements with wiring compensation and voltage burden compensation.
The communications interfaces on the 2801 include RS-232, GPIB (IEEE-488), and dual USB (Host and device) as standard, with optional Ethernet. The USB interfaces can be used for control, monitoring or printing. Data logging direct to a USB flash drive will also be an option. There are also 12 user-configurable digital I/O. The capabilities of this analyzer make it perfect for testing a variety of products including power supplies, inverters, DC/DC converters, consumer products, appliances and much more.
