Providence, R.I. Coto Technology has developed the miniature 9117 series of vertical SIP reed relays to save board space in automatic test equipment (ATE) applications. The 9117 is a 1-A version of the company's 9011 series, reconfigured as a vertical SIP to reduce the amount of board space required for each relay.
Packaged in a 0.270 x 0.150 x 0.385-inch footprint, the raised height of the 9117 series relay allows for a reduction in width, resulting in a smaller footprint with pins on a 0.06-inch pitch grid. The package incorporates an external magnetic shield to reduce interaction of these small relays when mounted in close proximity to each other.
The 9117 relays also use high dielectric strength materials and a molded thermoset body for a robust design. The 9117 is available in 5-V coils and offers an optional diode. Click the link for the 9177 series datasheet.
OEM pricing for the base part ranges from $4.32 in quantities of 10,000 to $5.04 in quantities of 1,000. Delivery is from stock to six weeks.
Coto also offers a 9852 ultra-miniature reed relay for automatic test equipment, process instrumentation and telecommunications applications.
