Camarillo, Calif.—Power-One's Aspiro 48-volt XR08.48 front-end rectifier, providing 800 watts, uses digitally-controlled rectifiers that can adapt, without derating, to a wide range of line, load, and temperature conditions. This adaptive capability is designed to significantly reduce logistics costs for service providers by enabling a one-solution deployment to power a wide range of wireline, wireless, and triple-play applications in cellular and WiMax base stations and in the enterprise.
"Only the Aspiro Power System offers competitive power densities without performance deratings from -40 to +65°C and across an AC input range of 84 to 300 volts," said Bill Yeates, CEO. "In addition, our digitized control and resonant-switching techniques have reduced component count by 40 percent, increasing reliability and further reducing total cost of ownership for communications service providers. This extends our digital power leadership established by our Z-One board-level products to site-level solutions."
This product has a 300 mm deep ETSI form factor with 1- and 2RU height options, NEBS level-3 compliance, Class B EMC, and hardwired ETSI or IEC 320 AC connectors. Distribution options include up to twelve circuit breakers, configurable by distribution and battery, or ten GMT fuses and optional low voltage disconnects.
Four XR08.48 systems, with 90 percent efficiency, can deliver 3200 watts from a 1U shelf. A 400-watt XR04.48 rectifier is also available with the same 4-by-1.6-by-9 inch form factor as the 800-watt product to reduce initial costs for lower-power systems and simplify migration paths when more power is needed.
