Smyrna, Georgia—Murata's MPDRX series of regulated, fast-responding point-of-load (non-isolated) modules deliver 22 to 40 watts in four versions for field programmable gate array (FPGA) and microprocessor applications.
The single-output family includes the MPDRX002S (28 watts at 0.8 to 1.8 volts from a 3-5 volt input); MPDRX004S (22 watts at 0.8 to 1.8 volts, 7-14 volt input); MPDRX103S (29 watts at 0.8 to 1.8 volts, 10.8-13.2 volt input); and the MPDRX104S (40 watts at 1.5 to 3.3 volts, 10.8-13.2 volt input).
These modules feature a transient response of 20 microseconds typical (MPDRX002S) and 30 microseconds (MPDRX004S, MPDRX103S, MPDRX104S), for a 50 to 100 percent load-current transient at di/dt = 2A/microsecond and for a return to within 50 mV of set output). Output efficiency is up to 90 percent.
The POLs include Vout sensing circuitry, remote on/off (negative logic), and short-circuit and over-temperature protection. They're rated for operation over -40 to +85°C.
