Maple Grove, Minn. CIT Relay & Switch offers the A2 and A3 series relays for automotive applications. The devices feature a typical electrical life of 100,000 cycles with a mechanical life of 10 million cycles.
The A2 and A3 series automotive relays offer contact arrangements of SPST N.O., SPST N.C., SPDT and SPST N.O. on two terminals. Both styles offer PCB pin and quick-connect mounting. Copper alloy terminal strength is 8N for the quick-connect style and 4N for the PCB pin version. Contact resistance is <30 milliohms initially and insulation resistance is 100 megohms at 500 Vdc for both series types. Solderability is 260°C for 5 seconds. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
The A2 series offers contact ratings up to 40 A at 14 Vdc, and up to 80 A at 14 Vdc for the A3 series. The maximum switching power for the A2 series is 630 watts with a maximum switching voltage of 75 Vdc and a maximum switching current of 40 A. The A3 series offers a maximum switching power of 1120 watts, a maximum switching voltage of 75 Vdc and a maximum switching current of 80 A.
The A2 series measures 26.0 x 26.0 x 24.5 mm and weighs 31 g, while the slightly larger A3 relays measure 28.5 x 28.5 x 26.5 mm and weighs 46 g. Contact materials are lead free, RoHS compliant (no cadmium) AgSnO2 for the A2 relays and AgSnO2In2O3 for the A3 style. Click the links for the A2 relay and A3 relay datasheets.
Volume pricing for the A2 and A3 relays starts at $0.52, depending on coil, contact configuration and volume. Delivery is from stock to 10 weeks.
