Sunnyvale, Calif.—Maxim's MAX6765-MAX6774 family of linear regulators, with a wide variety of options, delivers up to 100 mA for automotive applications. These devices draw just 31 microamps and thus are particularly suited to always-on modules.
The MAX6765-MAX6774, working from a 4-72 volt input, are offered with a fixed-output voltage of 5, 3.3, 2.5, or 1.8 volts, accurate to 1.5 percent. The user, with two external resistors, can set the output voltage externally from 1.8 to 11 volts. Features include an internal reset circuit (resets when the monitored output voltage falls below its
respective threshold), and reset timeout with fixed timeout options of 75 microseconds, 3 ms, 12.5 ms, 50 ms, or 200 ms (can be adjusted externally with a capacitor). The MAX6765/MAX6767/MAX6769/MAX6771/MAX6773 are offered with an open-drain reset output; the
MAX6766/MAX6768/MAX6770/MAX6772/MAX6774 have a push-pull reset output.
These linear regulators also offer an enable and hold circuit (MAX6767/MAX6768), an adjustable reset input (MAX6769/MAX6770), dual enable inputs (MAX6771/MAX6772), and a watchdog timer
(MAX6773/MAX6774). All devices in the family provide thermal and short-circuit protection.
