SAN JOSE, Calif.Integrated Device Technology has developed the PRECISE family of PCI Express (PCIe) switches consisting of 10 devices aimed at solving system I/O connectivity issues typically found in high-end servers, storage, communications, industrial and consumer equipment.
PRECISE devices are PCI Express 1.1 compliant. They deliver switching bandwidth of 24-Gbytes/s for the 48-lane/12-port switch. And at the low-end, the 8-lane/5-port switch delivers 4 GBytes/s throughput.
PRECISE switches are designed to maximize data throughput, producing what the company says is the lowest power consumption per lane and highest performance per watt compared to comparable PCIe devices. They support up to 2048-byte payloads, larger internal buffers and a large number of flow control credits.
Each member of the PRECISE family has a dedicated evaluation and development kit for device testing and analysis, and system emulation. Each kit consists of a hardware evaluation board with representative upstream and downstream connectivity, and an IDT-developed, GUI-based software environment that enables the designer to tune system and device configurations to meet system requirements.
All of the devices are either currently sampling or will be available for
sampling in the first calendar quarter of 2007.
