BANGALORE, India Cosmic Circuits, an analog, mixed signal and RF development startup based here, has licensed silicon IP ready for volume production to 15 customers.
The intellectual property covers power management, data converters for video and graphics markets, an analog front-end for wireless LANs, WiMAX, 802.11n and phase-locked loops.
Cosmic Circuits said the power management IP connects to a battery and has a die size as much as 40 percent smaller than comparable techology.
Cosmic has licensed the power management IP to several U.S. companies and expects to attract Japanese customers interested in power management for deep-submicron processes. Its power management portfolio includes a battery charger, white LED driver, DC-DC converters, low drop-out regulators and temperature sensors.
Cosmic is filing patents in the U.S. on four IPs covering circuit design video and graphics front-end data converter ICs. A high-speed data converter for video and graphics markets based on 0.13 microns process technology is being taped out while samples in 0.18 microns are in lab testing.
