DiBcom's STK-7078 MD chipset platform integrates dual tuners to support both the DVB-H and DVB-T standards.
The mobile TV chipset is fully NorDig II compliant and exceeds the performance metrics set by the MBRAI specification. Both single and dual antennas systems are supported.
The STK-7078 MD is compatible with both Windows XP and Vista and is available in the form of a USB-2.0 key. The complete product offering includes software porting.
The STK-7078 MD hybrid platform integrates the DIB7070-M and the DIB7078-M (an integrated tri-band tuner and a "2 in 1" demodulator) and a USB 2.0 DiBcom bridge.
DiBcom's dual-antenna Diversity Mode platform will make both the DVB-T and DVB-H standards operational on the same device for the first time ever. By the second half of 2007, DiBcom intends to launch a PCI Express bridge version with the same components.
In addition, the Diversity DVB-T mode has low power consumption of less than 1000 mW.
The Diversity mode, with its dual antenna, enables both standards to emit optimal quality reception inside the home or in a highly mobile environment such as in vehicles and at speeds of up to 130 km/hr.
With this state-of-the-art technology it is also possible to simultaneously record a TV channel while watching another.
DiBcom has extended its existing relationship with Cyberlink, a software applications specialist for both PC's and PDAs, to support the new platform.
DiBcom will preview and demonstrate the platform at its booth at CES 2007 in Las Vegas.
