Raleigh, N.C. Stackpole Electronics Inc. extends its power inductor product portfolio with the addition of three magnetically-shielded lines. The PSDB, SFM and PDRH series provide a variety of package sizes and configurations for designs limited by height, footprint and performance.
The PSDB series features an electrode connected directly to the ferrite core. With inductance values from 1.3 uH to 1000 uH and current capabilities up to 10 A, the high-power and high-saturation design of the PSDB makes it suitable for DC-DC conversion. The PSDB series is available in three heights from 3 mm to 5 mm. In addition, the square shape design and tape and reel packaging make automatic insertion easy to implement.
The SFM series combines excellent DC resistance with large current handling to make one of the most efficient power inductors on the market, said the company. The SFM series is available in six sizes with height dimensions as low as 1.8 mm. Targeting consumer electronics devices and notebook computers, the series is available in inductance values from 1 uH to 680 uH, with current handling up to 7.7 A.
The PDRH series offers a compact size of less than 4 mm per side with a height of 1.8 mm. The power inductors feature an electrode attached directly to the ferrite core, providing inductance values from 1 uH to 100 uH with current ratings up to 1.5 A. The combination of small size and high performance makes the PDRH a suitable choice for many applications including notebook computers and LCD screens.
