Malvern, Pa. Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has introduced three four-, six-, and eight-channel EMI filters in ultra-compact LLP leadless packages. With a low profile of 0.6 mm and a pin-to-pin pitch of 0.4 mm, the VEMI filter arrays are designed to save board space and provide electrostatic discharge protection (ESD) in portable electronics for mobile computing, mobile communication, consumer, industrial, automotive, and medical applications.
The multi-channel VEMI arrays include the four-channel VEMI45AA-HNH, the six-channel VEMI65AA-HCI, and the eight-channel VEMI85AA-HGK. Said to deliver high-quality filtering, the new devices are capable of attenuating unwanted signals by more than 30 dB over the 900 MHz to 2.3 GHz frequency range, with a resistance of 100Ω and an input capacitance of 60 pF. Low leakage current helps to prolong battery life.

All three devices provide transient protection for data lines as per IEC 6100042 (ESD) at 30 kV (air and contact discharge) and IEC 6100045 (lightning) from 4 A (tp = 8/20 microseconds). They are compliant with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC.
EMI filter array summary table
Samples of the EMI filter arrays in the leadless LLP package are available now. Production quantities will be available in first quarter 2007, with lead times of 10 to 12 weeks for large orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery is $12.00/100 pieces for the VEMI45AA-HNH; $14.00/100 pieces for the VEMI65AA-HCI; and $16.00/100 pieces for the VEMI85AA-HGK.
