Hillsboro, Ore. TriQuint Semiconductor has released a line of RF SAW (surface acoustic wave) filters for GSM/EDGE/WCDMA networks in a standard 3 x 3-mm footprint. The RF SAW filters feature low insertion loss and high unwanted signal rejection.
The RF SAW filters extend TriQuint's product family to include frequency ranges from 836.5 MHz to 2140 MHz. These include four new products that are available as engineering samples with full production in first quarter 2007. These filter products are designed for network applications including use in signal repeaters that extend and fill-in network coverage areas.
The high rejection of the SAW filters helps ensure amplifier stability while their consistent footprint allows designers to re-use PCB layouts across the different frequency bands, said the company. In addition, the size and cost of the SAW filters offer an alternative to bulkier and more costly solutions, said the company.
The RF SAW filters will be displayed at the GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
Availability: Samples are available now for the GSM900 897.5 MHz uplink (part #856657), GSM900 942.5 MHz downlink (part #856528), DCS 1747.5 MHz uplink (part #856654) and UMTS 1950 MHz uplink ( part #856532). Production quantities are scheduled for first quarter 2007.
