Fullerton, Calif. TT electronics BI Technologies Electronic Components Division offers a fixed five-volt output DC/DC converter for a variety of applications. The Model MS2378 two-watt converter is packaged in a hybrid SIP configuration and uses a ceramic base and hybrid technology to virtually eliminate any heat sinking requirements, according to the company.
The MS2378 DC/DC converter only requires two external capacitors and no heat sinks to make it easy to use and implement, said the company. Because it offers a wide input voltage range, tight load regulation, and current limit protection, the converter is suitable for a variety of applications that need a point-of-load source of low-voltage power for control circuitry.
The MS2378 two-watt converter features a fixed output voltage of 5 V (3.3 V available) at up to 400 mA, and an input voltage range of 12 Vdc to 32 Vdc. Line regulation is 1.0% (measured at 16 V to 32 V at 400 mA) with load regulation of 1.0% (at 100 mA to 400 mA). The operating temperature range is -10°C to 70°C. Custom specifications are available.
The MS2378 DC/DC converter measures 1.0-inch long x 0.5-inch high x 0.225-inch thick, with typical lead spacing of 0.10 inch. The converter can also be vertically or horizontally mounted. This versatile point-of-load device can be used in a variety of applications.
