ChicagoPCTEL Inc. introduced the first in its line of MAXRAD high-gain sector panel antennas with integrated Variable Electrical Tilt (iVET) technology for WiMAX base stations.
The antenna covers the 2.5 -to 2.7-GHz frequency band, and is available in a 65-degree beamwidth.
PCTEL will be demonstrating its WiMAX base station antennas as well as its portfolio of GPS, Mobile and other infrastructure antenna solutions at the at the CTIA Wireless 2007 industry show, booth # 3767, March 27-29, 2007 in Orlando, Florida.
The iVET technology is said to provide the highest level of tilt accuracy, reliability and ease of deployment without any impact on zoning due to increased length typically seen with 'bolt-on' products. It also allows for rapid and cost effective network optimization, removing or eliminating site access logistics required for antenna changes or adjustments.
The MAXRAD WiMAX antenna uses a high-efficiency distribution network and phase shifter design that provide matched down-tilt on both polarizations along with calibration accuracy.
The iVET functionality is completely enclosed in the antenna radome structure with no added external components. The antenna offers optimized radiation patterns to deliver RF coverage of 18-dBi of gain in a 48-inch tall radome structure.
