San Jose, CAPLS Development Tools announced that its Universal Debug Engine (UDE) will now support the Freescale's MPC55xx Automotive PowerPC Family and support will gradually be offered its for high-end PowerPC implementations from different manufacturers. The UDE is designed for use in the development, test and service of complex microcontroller applications.
This extension adds to existing UDE support for other current 16-bit and 32-bit microcontroller families from: Infineon (TriCore, XC16x, C16x), Freescale (MAC7Xxx), STMicroelectronics (ST10, STR7, STR9), NXP (LPC2100 LPC3100), Atmel (AT91SAM) and Marvell / Intel (PXA255 and PXA27x).
At Embedded Systems Conference Silicon Valley 2007, PLS Development Tools will be presenting the first solution for Freescale's MPC55xx Automotive PowerPC Family. The configurable user interface of the UDE 2.4 provides MPC55xx users with unrestricted C/C++ support, a powerful symbol browser, freely configurable toolbars, extensive context related menus and HTML as description language for user specific windows. The use of standard script languages helps to enable a high level of tool automation.
