Boone, N.C. TT electronics IRC Wire and Film Technologies Division has introduced commercial-grade cement-housed power wirewound and film resistors with extended resistance ranges and high-temperature operation in a vertical-mount configuration. The CVW (wirewound) and CVF (film) series resistors provide a minimal footprint with a vertical-mount configuration to save board space in industrial applications such as power electronics circuits, voltage dividers, power supplies and motor controllers.
An extended resistance range of 0.1 ohm (Ω) to 910Ω for the CWV series and 28Ω to 200 KΩ for the CVF series together with an operating temperature range of -55°C to 275°C make these power resistors suitable for operation in harsh environments.
Standard tolerances for both devices are to ±5% and ±10%, with temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) values of ±400 ppm/°C at less than 20Ω and ±350 ppm/°C at 20Ω and above.
Pricing: Typical pricing for the CVW and CVF series resistors is $.085 to $0.17 each, depending on R-values, in quantities of 10,000.
Availability: Lead time is from stock to six weeks.
