Munich, Germany EPCOS has introduced a high-current, surface-mount inductor in a 1210 case size. The SIMID 1210-H inductor offers a current handling capability of up to 1.15 A and an inductance range of 1 to 680 uH, which match the electrical properties of a larger 1812 device.
The SIMID inductors use a special laser welding technique for the connection between the winding lead and the contact terminal, which creates a temperature-resistant connection that allows long-term use at ambient temperatures of up to 150°C.
The complete encapsulation with LCP (liquid crystal polymer) also ensures high mechanical stability, which makes the inductors suitable for telecommunications, consumer, industrial and automotive electronics applications.
These AEC-Q200 qualified components are not only RoHS compatible but also satisfy the requirement for a lead-free solder profile to the JEDEC J-STD 020C standard.
Availability: Sample kits of the SIMID 1210-H series are available for customer design-in support.
