South Portland, Maine Fairchild Semiconductor has announced the FPF250X series, a family of IntelliMAX load switches with input voltages ranging from 4.5 V up to 20 V. These highly integrated devices provide full protection against potentially damaging over-current conditions impacting low-power designs including industrial, telecommunications, medical, notebook computer and consumer applications.
The FPF250X devices are said to simplify design, reduce component count and minimize board space by integrating a 0.23-ohm current-limited N-channel MOSFET with protection and control features such as thermal shutdown, controlled turn-on and
under-voltage lockout into a space-saving SOT23 package. Available in either adjustable (0.5 A to 2 A) or fixed current-limiting (0.4 A or 0.8 A) options, the FPF250X offers design flexibility while minimizing circuit tuning and troubleshooting, and accelerating time to market in numerous power management and circuit protection applications, said Fairchild.
These products are lead free (Pb free) and meet or exceed the requirements of the joint IPC/JEDEC standard J-STD-020B and are compliant with the European Union requirements that are now in effect.
Pricing: The FPF2500, FPF2501, FPF2502, FPF2503, FPF2504, FPF2505, FPF2506 devices are priced at $0.99 in quantities of 1,000.
Availability: Samples and demos are available now. Delivery is eight weeks ARO.
