MUNICH; Germany Aeroflex has added a G.703 interface pod option to its FB100A bit error rate tester for telecommunications infrastructures. The add-on enables the tester to be used for a wider range of interfaces, ranging from T1 to STM-1 at 155 Mbit/s.
The additional G.703 interface pod turns the FB100A into a fully integrated test system for R&D and manufacturing, the vendor promises. It increases the variety of equipment on which bit error rate measurements and noise/error characteristics can be made.
Used to test a range of RF/IF modems and other equipment carrying digital data through standardized telecommunications interfaces, the FB100A reduces test system development time and unit test times, Aeroflex says.
Sporting the same form factor as other FB100A pods, the G.703 interface pod features a full range of standard instrument tests and results, including automatic bit-error-rate measurements versus carrier-to-noise as well as frequency-tunable noise ranging from 5 MHz to 2,4 GHz. The device can operate in look-back mode, T1/E1 balanced and unbalanced mode and monitor mode.
