Dallas, Tex.Texas Instruments Inc. has introduced two crosspoint switches supporting data rates up to 4.25-Gbits/s.
The 4 x 4 and 2 x 2 switches provide a combination of high speed, low power and low jitter performance for applications such as XAUI signal buffering/muxing, backplane redundancy and high-speed network routing in end equipment such as wireless base stations and IP network routers.
The SN65LVCP404 and SN65LVCP402's ability to function as either a crosspoint switch or buffer will give designers the flexibility to use the devices in a wide variety of applications in the mass market.
Other features include receive equalization (Rx EQ) and transmit pre-emphasis, which improve signal integrity and enable longer transmission distances and impendent pre-emphasis control, which allows designers to tune outputs according to different trace or cable lengths.
The SN65LVCP404 and SN65LVCP402 achieve low power at 600 mW, allowing the designer achieve tighter device packing for higher port densities. External control of Vbb enables interfacing with different input/output types.
Pricing: The SN65LVCP404 (4x4) and SN65LVCP402 (2x2) are priced at $9.85 and $6.65, respectively, each in 1,000-piece quantities.
Availability: Now in 48-pin and 24-pin quad flat no lead (QFN) lead-free packages.
Datasheets: SN65LVCP404 and SN65LVCP402.
