Camas, Wash. Sharp Microelectronics of the Americas (SMA) has expanded its industrial LCD display suite with four new products a 5.7-inch, a 3.7-inch and two 3.5-inch models. Each offers a unique set of advanced optics and enhanced features for industrial applications.
SMA's first 5.7-inch VGA landscape LCD module (LQ057V3DG01) is a lightweight, compact 640 x 480 pixel format display that features 400 nits of brightness and a 600:1 contrast ratio for high visibility in adverse conditions. The display's transmissive low-light LCD capabilities are complemented by an anti-glare polarizing filter to improve visibility in bright ambient light situations. A wide-angle (160°H/150°V) viewing area provides for optimal usability in real-world industrial settings. These panels are well suited for applications such as test instruments, human-machine interfaces, fish finders, GPS devices, VoIP Phones, portable gaming devices, portable monitoring devices, and white goods.
The 3.7-inch portrait mode CG-Silicon switchable VGA/QVGA LCD module (LS037V7DW03) introduces SMA's new transflective display technology. Combined with symmetric viewing angles and an anti-glare coating, the new technology is said to deliver some of the best viewing capability available in this size. Chip-on-Glass technology offers reduced power consumption, as well as smaller size and lighter weight, making the display suitable for integration into handheld and mobile devices. The 480 x 640 pixel format display can be used in both high and low ambient light environments.
The 3.5-inch portrait-mode a-Silicon QVGA LCD module (LQ035Q7DH07) matches the design footprint of SMA's previous 3.5-inch LCD model LQ035Q7DH06, but with an improved brightness of 250 nits. The 240 x 320 pixel format display's transflective technology allows for excellent viewability and low power consumption in bright ambient-light conditions.
The 3.5-inch transflective portrait-mode QVGA display(LQ035Q7DB05) is compatible with SMA's 3.52-inch LQ035Q7DB03F model, but with improved brightness thanks to a more powerful LED backlighting system. The power-efficient display also leverages SMA's industrial use of Chip-on-Glass technology. The 240 x 320 pixel format panel's transflective technology allows for excellent viewability in any ambient light condition., and wide viewing angles offer excellent "at-a-glance" readability.
