Hopkinton, Mass. Valpey Fisher Corp. has released the VFVX321 ultra-low-jitter voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) for PLL circuits in SONET/SDH, Ethernet, and Fibre Channel applications. With its low jitter and better temperature stability, this device may be used as a drop-in replacement for voltage controlled SAW oscillators (VCSOs) in PLL circuits for jitter attenuation, said Valpey Fisher.
The VFVX321 offers a frequency range of 60 to 800 MHz and generates less than 0.09 picosecond jitter at 622.08 MHz across the OC-48 bandwidth (RMS 12KHz to 12MHz). The VFVX321 can be configured with a supply voltage of 2.5 V or 3.3 V and a choice of RF outputs including LVPECL, LVDS, and LVCMOS. The VFVX321 is available in an industry-standard hermetically sealed 5 x 7-mm, 6-pad leadless ceramic package. The VCXO is compliant with Telcordia GR-1244-CORE, GR-253-CORE, and ITU-T G.813.
