Toronto, CanadaViXS Systems Inc. has unveiled its MPEG4 AVC (advanced video coding) (MPEG4 Part 10/H.264) products to the digital television (DTV) market with its XCode 3000 family of HD video processors.
The XCode 3000 family, successor to the company's XCode 2100 Series, is available in two formats: an SoC version and a companion version. The SoC version XCode 3290 is a single chip that can be embedded in DTVs, set-top boxes, DVD recorders (Blu-ray and HD DVD), personal video recorders, network attached storage (NAS) devices and media server products.
The companion version XCode 3122 is used to enhance existing SoC products and allows OEMs and ODMs to add AVC encoding/decoding and/or transcoding from AVC to MPEG2 to their existing products.
