Corpus Christi, Tex. TT electronics IRC Advanced Film Division has introduced a 3-watt (W) surface-mount chip resistor in a 1225 package size for high-power applications. The LRF3W series resistors are offered in a package size traditionally rated at 1 W.
Because of its high power rating in the space-saving package, the LRF3W series is suitable for high current sensing applications including fuel gauging and over-current detection, AC/DC power supplies, VRMs, motorized seats, power windows, seat heaters and automotive fuel pump collision cut-off.
The chip resistor series offers a resistance range from 0.002Ω to 0.100Ω with absolute tolerances of ±1%, ±2%, ±5% and ±10%. Power dissipation is up to 3 W at 70°C, with temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) values as low as ±100 ppm/°C. The operating temperature ranges from -55°C to +150°C.
The chip resistors feature leach-resistant wrap-around terminations with either tin/lead or lead-free matte tin over nickel plating. Custom specifications are available.
Pricing: $0.20 at a 1800-piece minimum order quantity.
